Together with eight of its software and system house partners, PCS Systemtechnik GmbH will showcase innovative solutions for time management, access control, video surveillance and production data acquisition at this year’s CeBIT trade show in Hanover, Germany (Hall 6, Booth D 12). PCS offerings to feature prominently at this year’s event include RFID and biometric access readers in a new design, high-resolution video cameras for surveillance applications as well as mechatronical access solutions.
The PCS booth will put a special spotlight on various solutions from PCS partners. These include industry-specific and horizontal solutions based on the INTUS product family and generally characterized by the independence of the hardware and software components to ensure maximum investment protection. The PCS partner portfolio ranges from solutions for working time management, staff placement planning and a workflow-oriented staff management system to visitor management, a Manufacturing Execution System (MEs) implementation and leading-edge card technologies.
Access readers combining award-winning design with high security.
At this year’s CeBIT, PCS will for the first time present its two award-winning access readers INTUS 600 and INTUS 600FP. With their blue MagicEye and anthracite finish in a silver frame they perfectly match the design line that distinguishes all of the INTUS 5300 terminal family. And just as the INTUS 5300 time & attendance recording terminal before them, the two new access readers have now won the renowned iF award for outstanding product design.
INTUS 600 is a RFID access reader that scans cards using the highly secure Mifare DESFire EV1 and Legic advant reading methods while ensuring downward compatibility with the conventional Mifare Classic and Legic prime reading methods. This means that customers can keep on using existing access cards in migration projects. The INTUS 600FP fingerprint reader offers all the features of the INTUS 600 model plus a powerful fingerprint sensor. With a resolution of 256x360 pixels and over 500 dpi, the capacitive sensor meets even the strict requirements according to HSPD-12 (Homeland Security Presidential Directive). Moreover, it is certified according to FIPS-201 (Federal Information Processing Standard) and conforms to the NIST SP 800-76 standard (National Institute of Standards and Technology). It is very robust and resists electrostatic discharge up to 15 kV.
Palm vein recognition for high-security applications.

For high-security applications, PCS presents a new version of its INTUS PS palm vein recognition system. The new reader version now allows individual control of the MagicEye’s LED’s so that OEM’s and system integrators have even more flexibility to design the best interface possible. Palm vein recognition significantly lowers the risk of potential manipulation and forgery. In addition, the process is contactless and ensures maximum hygiene.
Video surveillance with CONVISION: easy-to-use with state-of-the-art technology.

From its CONVISION video product family, PCS will showcase a maximum resolution HDTV surveillance camera, digital cameras using H.264 compression plus the latest version of its Central Manager, a Video Management Platform for up to 20 video servers.
As the latest member of the CONVISION product family, the CONVISION CC-200-HDTV camera offers full 1920x1080 pixel HDTV resolution for superior image quality. A powerful motorized 10x zoom lens for tracking eliminates the need for a special lens. The camera also features H.264 / JPEG dual streaming, powerful two-way audio and video communications as well as the option to save images to an SD card using its integrated digital video recorder.
The new H.264 network cameras of the CONVISION family deliver superior image quality with minimum bandwidth use. Each of the four new CONVISION H.264 network cameras offers top-quality state-of-the-art technology with an integrated network interface. The H.264 compression method supports 25 images per second at a resolution of 720x576 pixels (PAL). A transfer rate of up to 4 Mbps offers the best bandwidth/image quality ratio currently available in the market.
The latest version of the Convision Central Manager (CCM) video management software allows you to easily render and manage analog cameras as well as IP cameras on a single user-friendly interface. The centralized administration and display of recorded images in the CONVISION video servers is now also supported. For security guard services, alarms and a full range of disturbance and service messages can be provided. In this case, the CONVISION IP Video Service transmits a message directly to the CCM.
Off-line goes on-line: INTUS with NetworkOnCard.
NetworkOnCard now completely integrates PegaSys off-line door terminals into the INTUS on-line access control system. The mechatronical PegaSys door terminals and door cylinders turn into an integral component of an on‑line access control solution which receives data from a higher-level system such as SAP. Using only a single access card, the user is able to open all the approved doors – those equipped with an on-line access reader just as those secured by a mechatronical door terminal. NetworkOnCard automatically updates the access authorization with each booking at an authorization terminal. If an employee uses his or her access card to open a door at an authorization terminal in the morning, the authorizations for the mechatronical door terminals are simultaneously written to the access card. All the authorizations issued are logged in DEXICON – the certified PCS subsystem for the SAP ERP modules HCM and Operations – to increase the general transparency of all the access authorizations granted. For visitors or third-party employees, the authorization can be restricted to specific doors and specific hours.
