Time & attendance recording on the highest summit :: 2006-05-17 15:00

Germany’s most elevated time & attendance recording terminal is installed on the Zugspitze, the country’s highest mountain. X/TIME time management software from GFOS and INTUS terminals deliver an efficient an elegant solution.

As almost any company, the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG has had to deal with the problem of how to record the attendance times of its employees as efficiently as possible. In the past, attendance recording sheets were used for this purpose, but in February 2006, these were replaced by a solution which consists of X/TIME time management software from GFOS and 12 INTUS terminals from PCS. The new system now handles the attendance and absence times of 320 employees and foreign personnel at 10 locations up on the mountain and in the valley.

Three different collective agreements are represented in the system for time & attendance recording and staff placement planning purposes, and employee requests are automatically integrated in the rostering process. The new system works accurately, fast, efficiently and economically. For example, the info terminal allows every employee to view and print his or her current roster or to submit the next holiday application after identification by their personal card. Changes or corrections can be made online at any time.

For the symbolic handover of “Germany’s most elevated time & attendance recording terminal”, Rolf Vonau, Managing Director of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG (left), Burkhard Röhrig (right) and Walter Elsner, managing partners of GFOS and PCS, respectively, met on Germany’s highest peak. “The new system takes a burden off our technical departments and enjoys high acceptance with our employees, so that the investment will pay off in the shortest of time,” said Rolf Vonau. “In addition, it has shown that time management can be efficient and beautiful at the same time.”
