Wolford AG always places quality first – selects access control and video surveillance solution from PCS in Germany
Wolford has positioned itself as a dynamic top label in the premium segment of the global fashion world. The Wolford brand stands for highest quality, innovative knitwear technology, creativity and luxury.
Based in Bregenz, Austria, on the shores of Lake Constance, Wolford AG has 14 subsidiary companies across the world and distributes its products to around 65 countries via its own boutiques and trading partners. In its history of almost 60 years, Wolford has evolved into an international premium brand offering a full portfolio of exclusive apparel in lines ranging from ready-to-wear items, legwear, lingerie and swimwear to accessories.
Wolford’s HR department requested a state-of-the-art time & attendance recording system based on proximity cards for the company's main factory with a staff of 1,200. At the same time, Wolford Building Services was looking for a new access and property protection concept to prevent theft and unauthorized access to the factory premises. The requirement was to implement time & attendance recording, access control and video surveillance based on a comprehensive and compatible system. A team recruited from the HR, Building Services, and IT departments jointly evaluated the proposal.
Creativity, aesthetics and innovative added value are the core values of Wolford AG. The company applies high standards to its own products, and the requirements set for the implementation of its time & attendance recording, access control, and video surveillance project were just as exacting.
In PCS, Wolford found a system vendor capable of supplying all the required hardware components such as time & attendance recording terminals, access readers, offline readers and video surveillance equipment.
PCS software partner ATOSS provided the leading time & attendance recording system, Staff Efficiency Suite. The subordinate DEXICON software for access control comes from PCS. It supports the integration with SAP master data via a certified interface and facilitates the management of access profiles. 2,000 Mifare cards are used for time & attendance recording, access control und employee identification. Each card includes a picture of the card holder.
The new system went live within only six months after the initial order – all operational testing had successfully been performed in that time. This rapid implementation was possible because all the project components were supplied through a single vendor, and by using INTUS PegaSys offline readers, it was even possible to integrate doors with the access control system that could not be networked due to fire protection requirements.
In total, 32 INTUS 5300-NT terminals, 1 INTUS 6700 terminal, 94 INTUS 400/500 Mifare readers, 30 INTUS PegaSys offline readers, 9 INTUS ACM8e Access Control Managers, 8 Convision V410 video servers, and 37 CC-5303IR, CC-5304-IR, CC-5341 W/F, and CC-5451IR/AF video cameras were installed in a first step.
