Basically, a good video surveillance camera, video analysis software and, depending on the project scope, processing software are required. The standalone solution is limited to license plate recognition and allows a comfortable access of known vehicles. Due to the easy handling and quick commissioning this solution is sufficient for standard cases. European license plates including Turkey and Israel are recognized.
Cayuga license plate recognition for all international license plates.
If access control with video surveillance is to be used, PCS recommends the Cayuga license plate recognition software, which is an extension module of the Cayuga video management software, which in turn enables monitoring of the parking space in addition to license plate recognition. All license plate formats are read, including Arabic or Cyrillic characters - even on several lanes. Vehicles on the so-called "white list" are allowed to enter automatically. If access is to be regulated in terms of time, time windows can be allocated for entry.
Advantages of integrating the license plate recognition into the access control software.
If the approaching wagons are to be recorded with vehicle data, it makes sense to combine license plate recognition with the DEXICON access control software. It contains a vehicle database with the essential features such as vehicle type and license plate number. With this vehicle "profile", a car can be found more quickly in a large parking lot. The software can also assign which vehicle belongs to which person or for which parking zones/parking spaces a vehicle is authorized. License plates and access rights are managed directly in DEXICON. Cayuga transfers the recognized license plates, quasi as a license plate reader, directly into the DEXICON software. In addition to convenient access control, this solution ensures the security of the building and at the same time provides a better overview and transparency on the premises - if necessary, vehicles in the parking lot are quickly recognized and the vehicle owner can be contacted quickly. In this way, convenient license plate recognition provides added value for parking lot surveillance.
