Ostwestfalen-Lippe-IT (OWL-IT) sees itself as an innovative service provider that supports and optimizes the performance of local authorities by providing a secure IT infrastructure, modern technology and specialist software.

OWL-IT provides comprehensive, customer-oriented, effective and economical IT services as part of a coordinated information technology strategy.

Around 500 employees and 30 junior staff at the Lemgo and Paderborn locations support the administrative staff in the association's area and beyond with the development, introduction and maintenance of classic municipal applications and the associated services (consulting, training, installation, maintenance and support).

Our daily motivation is to develop suitable and innovative solutions for the municipalities and to implement the diverse and constantly changing challenges of information technology for the benefit of the association members

Our aim is to take a holistic view of municipal IT solutions, including the infrastructure and a full service geared towards the requirements of a modern administrative service.

Ostwestfalen-Lippe-IT stands for strong data protection and the highest possible level of data security and, as the legal successor to krz, is the first municipal IT service provider with BSI certification (ISO 27001). As a municipal IT service provider, Ostwestfalen-Lippe-IT (OWL-IT) provides direct and indirect services to around 9 million inhabitants in NRW. The association's territory includes the districts of Herford, Minden-Lübbecke, Lippe and Paderborn with their district towns and municipalities as well as the district towns of Bad Driburg, Beverungen, Borgentreich, Höxter, Nieheim, Steinheim and Willebadessen from the district of Höxter and the Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office Ostwestfalen-Lippe (CVUA-OWL AöR). OWL-IT represents the interests of local authorities in the federal and state associations VITAKO e. V. and KDN. As a municipal special-purpose association, OWL-IT has the status of a public corporation.
