The Porsche Holding in Austria has developed into one of the most successful automotive distributors in Europe since its foundation in 1947. In addition to the Porsche sports car brand, Volkswagen Group brands including VW, Audi, Seat, Škoda, Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti are part of the brand portfolio managed in Austria and South-East Europe at all levels of trade.
- Offline-capable, expandable, autonomously maintainable.
The envisaged solution had to be offline-capable – i.e. not dependent on the server as the precursor system was – as well as expandable, suitable for the industry and designed for largely autonomous maintenance. Another basic requirement was the efficient and standardized integration of the data collection hardware with the existing SAP ERP personnel management system. - Facilitating cafeteria operations.
Streamlining the cafeteria operations in the parts distribution center was of great importance for the company. A new system specifically developed for Porsche Holding now allows employees to book their meal right when they are clocking in in the morning.
This gives the cafeteria operator a high degree of planning security. Even the handing out of meals is facilitated because the cafeteria staff now always have an up-to-date overview of meals ordered and handed out. - Rapid implementation and scalability.
Porsche Holding uses time recording terminals with ergonomic matrix touch keyboards and access readers customized to the corporate design. The last dealerships to implement the system received INTUS 5300 terminals distinguished by their award-winning design.
Porsche Holding sees the system’s rapid deployment, availability and scalability as the special advantages offered by the PCS solution. - Old and new terminal generations in concurrent use.
The PCS terminals have proved to be very reliable and easy to maintain over a long period of time: older and newer generations of INTUS terminals have been in continuous use for almost ten years now.
