The Richard Wolf GmbH develops, produces, and distributes a variety of products for endoscopy and extracorporeal shock wave treatment in human medicine. Integrated operating theater systems round out the product range.
As one of the so-called “hidden champions”, Richard Wolf is well known in trade circles as a global market leader in endoscopes. Richard Wolf devices can be found at almost every operating table as well as across the automotive and aerospace industries. The specialized company generates 80 percent of its sales abroad.
- Certification as a “Known Consignor” indispensable.
Certification as a “Known Consignor” by the German Federal Office of Civil Aviation (LBA) was a ‘must’ for the company. For the further certification as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) comprehensive security requirements had to be met. - Areas relevant for air cargo are AEO compliant.
This meant for Richard Wolf that all the areas of the logistics center relevant for air cargo had to be protected by powerful access control. To meet the requirements for AEO certification, it must be guaranteed at all times that only authorized personnel are present in that part of the building. Palm vein readers for highly secure access control.
PCS recommended deployment of its INTUS 1600PS palm vein authentication system to implement highly secure access control. A total of 12 INTUS 1600PS palm vein readers were installed at all the doors and gates of those areas of the logistics center relevant for air cargo. Every person’s palm vein pattern is unique and cannot be copied. This means that access control based on palm vein authentication is highly secure and tamper-proof.Focus on employee master data from SAP.
PCS access control protects the company’s entire premises. The certified DEXICON software uses employee master data from SAP. Access profiles are pre-defined via the SAP groups. The online system allows employees to retrieve their flextime balance or remaining leave days at the INTUS time recording terminal at any time.
