Ziehm Imaging is specialized in the development, manufacturing and worldwide distribution of mobile X-ray based imaging solutions (C-arms).
With a staff of around 500 in Germany, Ziehm Imaging generates about 60 percent of its sales through exports. For this reason, the company invested in implementing a security concept to achieve certification as a “Known Consignor”.
The existing DEXICON Enterprise time recording and access control system was expanded to create an encapsulated export area secured by access control and video surveillance.
PCS access control and time recording since 2010.
Since 2010, Ziehm Imaging has been relying on access control and time recording technology from Munich-based PCS Systemtechnik GmbH. The crucial factor for the company was the fact that PCS offered a complete package combining time recording and access control. In addition, the interface to SAP allows the retrieval of master data from SAP HR.

Ziehm Imaging also uses DEXICON as a tool for flextime recording and transfers the time data to SAP HCM.Online and offline access control.
Time-dependent authorizations based on access profiles in DEXICON Enterprise are used for access control. Storage areas are equipped with offline door cylinders used as non-networked access readers integrated via the NetworkOnCard software.Requirements for the certification as a “Known Consignor” are met.
To achieve certification as a “Known Consignor”, Ziehm Imaging equipped every single entrance to the export warehouse with access control readers and reconfigured the rolling gate as a lock. A video camera for each entrance documents every access event. Any movement in the export freight area outside regular working hours is captured by the video surveillance system and will trigger an alarm.
