Vehicle access control with long-range readers – convenient, fast, and secure
At the perimeter surrounding the company premises, fences, barriers, or entrance gates form the first security zone. They protect the site from unauthorized entry and access. In addition to access control for individuals, a reliable vehicle access control system is essential to manage vehicle movements in a targeted manner. Delivery traffic can be regulated, and employee vehicles can be clearly distinguished from unauthorized vehicles.
Long-range readers offer a particularly convenient and efficient solution for this: vehicles equipped with UHF transponders are automatically detected from a distance, without the driver having to stop or actively present a transponder. Barriers or roller gates open automatically, for example, for forklifts with transponders – without delay. Traffic flows remain smooth. This ensures fast operations at access points or charging stations and also relieves your security staff.
In contrast to license plate recognition, the long-range reader works with permanently assigned UHF transponders. This provides an additional level of security, as access authorization is directly linked to a registered vehicle.

In security control systems such as access control, the use of RFID badges is standard practice. Unlocking doors using an RFID card at an access reader is something we’re all familiar with. This same principle also applies to automated vehicle access control – using UHF transponders, which are available in many models.
Vehicles are automatically recognized – without stopping, getting out, or manually presenting an ID card. This enables smooth access at barriers and gates. Drivers benefit from a comfortable, contactless entry that works reliably even in rain or darkness.
Access is only granted with a registered transponder that is clearly assigned to a person or vehicle. This prevents misuse and unauthorized access. Tampering or unauthorized use of license plates is excluded.
