THE CONCEPT OF AN ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM.

In practice, access control systems come in many different forms. They range from mechatronic door terminals for a single door, access terminals for modern contactless RFID cards (see also Worth Knowing RFID) for a large number of doors, electronic or mechatronic locking cylinders, high-security systems with biometrics (see also Worth Knowing Biometrics), separating systems, locks, barriers with and without automatic barrier control, e.g. by vehicle number recognition.

Furthermore, a connection to other danger detection systems, to video surveillance or to administrative ERP systems such as time and production data acquisition is possible. This ensures that employee master data is only created and maintained once for organizational purposes, but can then be used for several applications.
