Biometrics

Biometrics

Controlled access to buildings is connected with the question: Who are you? After all, some people have always tried to gain unauthorized access by forging or stealing keys, by accidentally using open doors or by pretending to be someone else.

Biometrics helps to come a significant step closer to the maxim of access control "not unnecessarily hindering authorized persons in their access and safely denying access to unauthorized persons".

On the following pages you can read about the differences between various biometric identification methods and what needs to be considered when designing access control systems.
