With face recognition, the face of a person is recorded with a camera and certain features of the face, such as distances from the eyes-nose-mouth, are compared with a template. Special filters and life checks ensure that no photo can be used for recognition.
Face recognition is well accepted as a non-contact method. For higher security requirements, face recognition is also combined with other means of identification such as PIN numbers or voice recognition. High security is not possible with face recognition. Identical twins, for example, are usually not recognized.
