Advantages and disadvantages compared to other identification methods.

RFID technology today is somewhat more expensive than older computer-readable identification methods (such as barcode or magnetic card). For this reason, RFID labels or RFID cards are primarily used in the logistics sector or in the time recording and access control sector, where the higher price pays off economically or where the requirements for operating convenience and ergonomics are higher. For the foreseeable future, the barcode will continue to be the less expensive way of marking individual yoghurt pots.
